Sultangazi district of Istanbul

Sultangazi is one of the new inland districts of Istanbul. It is a district on the European side of Istanbul. In 2008, it was founded with the participation of 14 neighborhoods from Gaziosmanpasa, one neighborhood from Eyupsultan and one neighborhood from Esenler.

Population of the Sultangazi district involves several ethnic minorities, including immigrants from Bulgaria, former Yugoslavia, the Black Sea region of Turkey, Alevis and Kurds.

Location of Sultangazi

Sultangazi is bordered by Eyupsultan on the east and northeast, Esenler on the west, Gaziosmanpasa on the south and Basaksehir on the northwest. One border of the district is the TEM highway. Its proximity to Fatih, Beyoglu and Sisli makes Sultangazi a densely populated and desirable region for people, as these districts are the centers of money and business, market and malls.

Services available in Sultangazi

Sultangazi’s overpopulation created a need for all services to be available from the biggest to the smallest. From government sector to the private sector, there are all the services in the district which residents may need. Many schools including elementary, middle and high schools, several health centers and branches of banks and ATMs exist in Sultangazi to serve the residents of the district. In the district, there are many shopping and entertainment centers, as well as a 6-storey dental and oral health hospital that can serve 1,000 citizens a day.

In addition to these services, there are a large number of projects currently being implemented and planned, including the metro line, which will raise the prices of all properties located near it.

Transportation in Sultangazi

Although the Metrobus and the Metro do not pass from the Sultangazi district, the buses available in the district meet the needs of the residents. The residents can reach to various districts of Istanbul by buses, as well as they can reach to Metrobus and Metro stations. It is not only buses that the residents of Sultangazi can use as a means of transport, but there is a tramway that connects the districts of Fatih and Sultangazi to each other.
