Turkish Citizenship 2021: Acquiring Turkish citizenship for Palestinians with Travel Documents
In the continuing efforts from the Turkish government to motivate investments in Turkey, and part of Turkey’s plan to draw more investments to the country, an amendment has been issued on the Tapu and land registry regulations in Turkey. Palestinians, with travel documents, are now allowed to buy and own properties in Turkey easily. Before the newest amendments, Palestinians with travel documents, had to have a residence permit in Turkey, prior to owning properties in Turkey.
Palestinians with travel documents can now acquire Turkish Citizenship through owning properties in Turkey, with one condition, that within the travel document they have, it should state that they are Palestinian nationals.
Previously, Palestinians with travel documents could only own properties in Turkey after acquiring a residence permit in Turkey as a prerequisite. The process was so hard and complicated and stopped many Palestinian investors, with travel documents, from getting their residence permit and owning property in Turkey.
From now on, and starting from 2/2/2021, and after the release of the new amendments, it has become easy for Palestinians who has a travel document issued from some Arab states such as Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and others, to own properties in Turkey and acquire Turkish Citizenship as a result to their investment.
