Bayrampasa could be the ideal place for those who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, but also be close to the city center. The people of Bayrampasa are mainly Albanians and Bosniaks. The district comprises both working class residential and industrial areas. Located on the European side of the city, the district’s neighbours are Gaziosmanpaşa to the north, Eyüp to the east, Zeytinburnu to the south, and Esenler to the west.

 

Features of Bayrampasa

Bayrampasa area is characterized by the presence of several malls that includes the most famous Turkish and international brands to meet the needs of its residents. Forum Istanbul Mall is the largest mall not in Istanbul or Turkey but in Europe. The mall is located in 495.000 m2 area. There are 300 international and Turkish brands in this shopping mall including sports products, technology stores, products for children and mothers, various cafes and restaurants and entertainment. The mall also includes Istanbul-Aquarium that is the first public aquarium in Turkey. Having more than 10,000 nektons, it was the largest aquarium in Europe when it opened in 2009. It is a perfect district for shopping, and tourists began directly heading to Forum Istanbul Mall from the airport when their flights land on. There are other malls in the area and near the area, but Forum Istanbul Mall is the most prominent and famous one among its residents.

In the district of Bayrampasa, there are several local parks which children can play safely and their families can enjoy walking, doing sports or relaxing in the green areas. There are 70 parks and children’s playground, 28 community pools and 15 basketball courts in total in Bayrampasa. The largest city park of Bayrampasa covers 480.000 m2 area and consists of an open air cinema, amphitheatre, hiking and picnic areas, children’s playgrounds, hobby garden, waterfalls and artificial ponds, jogging and walking tracks and exhibition areas.

Bayrampaşa has the biggest bus terminal of Istanbul. The main bus terminal called ‘Esenler’ is easily reached by subway. The surrounding of this terminal is being developed by some projects such as; Carrefour, Bauhaus, Forum Istanbul, Ikea and Praktiker.

 

Real estate in Bayrampasa

Although the general nature of the houses of Bayrampaşa is old and simple, this does not prevent the existence of some advanced buildings in the area. There are high-end housing projects that contain several social facilities.
